• The Mahr of Fāṭimah (r.a). The narrations of her marriage to ʿAlī (r.a) record a Mahr of twelve ūqiyah of silver. This collection supplies that amount, in full, as physical coins.

The Mahr of Fāṭimah رضي الله عنها

When ʿAlī رضي الله عنه married Fāṭimah رضي الله عنها, daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he had no money for the Mahr. He owned a coat of armour. He sold it, and he brought the silver.

The narrations of that marriage record twelve ūqiyah. That is 480 dirhams. At the IDCC dirham weight of 3.0618 grams, it is 1,469.7 grams of silver.
