- The Mahr of the Prophet ﷺ to his wives. ʿĀ’ishah (r.a) was asked about it, and her answer was precise: twelve ūqiyah and a nash, five hundred dirhams. Recorded in Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim.

A Mahr measured against the Prophetic example
ʿĀ’ishah رضي الله عنها was asked what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave his wives as Mahr. Her answer was precise: twelve ūqiyah and a nash. Five hundred dirhams.
It is recorded in Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim, and it is not disputed.

Five hundred dirhams comes to a little under fifty troy ounces. A coin is never part cut, so Amanah rounds up to the full fifty. What she receives is above the standard, never below it.
