Our Position

A Certificate Is a Promise. We Treat It That Way.

In the precious metals market, the word "certified" is used freely. It is printed on packaging, displayed on websites, and attached to coins that may never have been independently tested. We operate differently.

Every certification that appears on an Amanah coin was issued by an independent body with no commercial relationship to us beyond the certification itself. Each one can be verified. Each one has an expiry and renewal process. None are purchased.

We also hold a UAE trade licence, comply fully with Central Bank AML regulations, and source exclusively from LBMA-standard refineries. Below is the complete picture — institution by institution.

UAE General Directorate

UAEGD

The UAE General Directorate for Precious Metals and Stones is the federal authority responsible for regulating the purity, hallmarking, and commercial integrity of all precious metals sold within the United Arab Emirates.

Amanah follows UAEGD standards and sources exclusively from UAE-certified and UAEGD-approved refineries and minting partners. The purity declared on every Amanah coin — 999.9 fine for gold, 999 fine for silver — is independently tested and confirmed through our certified refinery partners, not self-certified.

Our refinery and minting partners hold current UAEGD certification. Amanah FZE LLC ensures all raw material suppliers and minting partners comply with UAE federal precious metals regulation. This is not a marketing claim — it is a contractual requirement of every supplier relationship we hold.

What this certifies
  • Metal purity independently assayed
  • Weight verified against declared specification
  • UAEGD-approved refinery and minting partners
  • Legal for commercial sale in the UAE and globally

Islamic Monetary Council

IMC

The Islamic Monetary Council is an independent international body dedicated to the revival of the gold dinar and silver dirham as instruments of Islamic monetary policy. IMC certification confirms that a coin meets the classical specifications of weight and purity established by prophetic tradition and Islamic jurisprudence.

The gold dinar specification is 4.25 grams of 24K pure gold. The silver dirham is 3.0 grams of 999 fine silver. These are not modern inventions — they are the measures used for over fourteen centuries of Islamic commerce and are cited in fiqh across all major madhabs.

Our IMC certification means that Amanah coins can be used for Mahr (dowry), Zakat calculation, and all transactions where the classical dinar or dirham is specified — with full scholarly recognition.

What this certifies
  • Coin meets classical dinar/dirham weight specification
  • Purity confirmed to prophetic standard
  • Valid for Mahr, Zakat, and Islamic transactions
  • Recognised by IMC-affiliated scholars globally
Accounting & Auditing Organisation for Islamic Financial Institutions

AAOIFI

AAOIFI is the leading international standard-setting body for Islamic finance. Its Sharīʿah standards — developed by a global panel of scholars and finance professionals — govern how gold, silver, and commodity transactions must be structured to be permissible under Islamic law.

Amanah's business model, product structure, and vault arrangements are audited annually for compliance with AAOIFI Sharīʿah Standard No. 57 (Gold and its Trading Controls) and related standards on deferred delivery, riba-free exchange, and physical possession requirements.

In practical terms: when you buy an Amanah coin, the transaction is structured so that ownership and constructive possession (qabḍ) transfer to you at the point of purchase — not at some future date, not on paper. This eliminates the riba risk present in most modern gold products.

What this certifies
  • Transaction structure compliant with AAOIFI SS No. 57
  • Physical possession (qabḍ) correctly executed
  • Riba-free exchange confirmed
  • Annual Sharīʿah audit by independent scholars

IDCC

The IDCC issues a blockchain-recorded certificate for every Amanah coin. This certificate permanently associates a unique coin identity — including serial number, weight, purity, and minting date — with an immutable on-chain record.

Unlike a paper certificate that can be duplicated, lost, or counterfeited, an IDCC certificate cannot be altered or destroyed. The blockchain record is permanent, public, and verifiable by anyone with the certificate ID.

When a coin is gifted, sold, or passed to an heir, the IDCC certificate transfers with it. Ownership provenance is traceable from the original mint to the current holder — a chain of custody no paper system can match.

What this certifies
  • Unique coin identity recorded on-chain
  • Tamper-proof — cannot be altered or counterfeited
  • Publicly verifiable by any third party
  • Transferable with the physical coin
Responsible Sourcing

LBMA-Standard Refineries Only

The London Bullion Market Association maintains the world's most respected list of accredited gold and silver refineries — the Good Delivery List. Membership requires strict due diligence on conflict-free sourcing, anti-money laundering procedures, and environmental responsibility.

Amanah sources all raw metal exclusively from LBMA Good Delivery-accredited refineries. This means the gold in every Amanah coin has a fully documented chain of custody from mine to mint, with conflict minerals screening at every stage.

We are AML-clear, conflict-free, and hold a current UAE trade licence. Our AML compliance is reviewed annually and aligns with the UAE Central Bank's financial crime prevention framework.
